Some people may remember Eric the Homeless Man who caught viral fame last year for the ultimate “pay-it-forward”.

In 2014, Eric was on the receiving end of a “feel good prank” by the host of the website Magic of Rahat. Eric was given $1,000 in a fake lottery contest (which was really a social experiment on film) to see what the typical homeless person would do with a sudden influx of funds. Eric stole the internet’s heart by not buying booze, drugs or new clothes for himself, but instead giving cash to some other homeless folks also in need.

Shortly after, Magic of Rahat started an online donation page to help this remarkable human being. The website has since raised $60,000 to assist Eric get back on his feet.

What does Eric do instead? He puts up his homeless comrades in hotel rooms for a month at a time so they can have a warm bed, clean bathroom and hot shower. A place to call home, even if it’s only for a few weeks.
